Once 8 PM hits  my kids are soundly in their beds, tucked under their warm blankets after a quick bath; homework done and packed for the next school day, lunches made and house sparkling clean. *POP*
That would be the sound of my gigantic dream bubble popping to the sound of my three year old whining to sleep in mom and dad’s bed (AGAIN) for one more night while throwing a fit and knocking over all my neatly stacked books on my bedside table and me wailing from a super messy bathroom whilst brushing my teeth at my seven year old to get off her iPad NOW… for the 5th time.
Errr mah gawd… where on earth is my husband?

Does this sound remotely familiar to you at all? Do you find bedtime to be a struggle some days or most?
My daughters favourite #5moreminutes excuse is that her tummy is grumbling and she’s hungry or needs a glass of warm milk.  She’s also the slowest little snail when getting ready for bed.  Brushing her teeth and washing her face will literally take her the amount of time it takes me to get a load in and out and even folded of my laundry.  And my sons is pretty much anything and everything goes as long as he keeps himself awake — mostly alternating between The Flatterer to Naked in Protest.

Which Stall Style does your kid have?

It’s time to take back your night with a little help from Netflix!
Netflix, really? TV time before bed? I know, sounds a little incongruous. But it may work with that little master negotiator… hear me out!

Today, Netflix and DreamWorks Animation launched Dinotrux Favorites, an entire episode of the latest hit all in a nice little 5-minute package — letting your little negotiator think they’re getting away with the age-old ‘just five more minutes’ ploy.

So let them high-five all the live-long-day knowing you just pulled the greatest parenting stunt of all time. In a mere 300-seconds, your kids will be speechless as they march themselves up to bed knowing they got exactly what they wanted. You: 1, Kids’ stalls: 0.

  1. My daughter will find any excuse to come out, I’m hungry, I’m thirsty, I didn’t pack my lunch, I need snuggles the list goes on and on. This is a great feature that Netlix has, I will have to check it out!

  2. lol i guess you can say my daughter is a trickster! she pretends she is tired and ready for bed all under the sheets and the she quickly jumps out of bed and starts running up and down the hall
