Glitz, glamour, Neil Patrick Harris in his underwear, Lady Gaga singing The Sound of Music and presenting Julie Andrews, Girl Power with Patricia Arquette, Meryl Streep and JLO, moving Speech from Common and John Legend for Selma, The Grand Budapest Hotel taking home tons of wins… I can go on and on for days!
Last nights Oscars did not disappoint.
Neil Patrick Harris was a phenomenal host mixing just the right amount of appropriate comedy with a whole lot of class and a little sass.
On top of this, there were so many moving musical performances touching on topics and emotions that carried on far after they were over.
Can I just say I was in heaven and absolutely giddy during Lady Gaga’s Sound of Music piece and the icing on the cake was when she presented Julie Andrews just right after.
And what about that girl power moment during a powerful speech from Oscar-winning Patricia Arquette when the camera zooms onto an animated and empowered Meryl Streep and Jennifer Lopez? Yes!
I felt the right people and the right films won last night (and there were awards shows in the past when I felt some were robbed from winning).
Overall it was fantastic to watch and if you missed it – hopefully you get a chance to catch it. The opening number will have you fully entertained right away!
Oh, and of course I cannot forget the red carpet.
A sea of classy whites, vibrant reds, mesmerizing accessories and a gown adorned with 6,000 pearls courtesy of red-carpet fashion icon and uber talented and lovely Lupita Nyong’o.
Vintage and sexy-elegance seemed to be a popular look last night and I enjoyed oohing and aahing over them all!
Here were my favourite picks for Best Dressed at the Oscars.
Anna Kendrick – custom-made gown by Thakoon
Rosamund Pike – Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci gown
Jenna Dewan Tatum – Zuhair Murad Couture
