I’m sure I’m not the only parent out there that has to hear their child proclaim that they want that toy, and that toy, and that one, when viewing commercials on the television.
I often have to nod my head in agreement or remind them that that if they’re good, do their chores, behave, yadi-yadi-yada, that maybe they’ll receive as a reward or perhaps Santa or the birthday fairy will hear them and add to their wish list.
We love toys in this house and I especially encourage play and lots of it from my children, especially when it’s sparking creativity, imagination, activity and keeping them away from electronic devices.
Don’t get me wrong. I think iPad’s and other electronic smart devices for children are brilliant and offer TONS of educational benefit (I know because my kids have great apps downloaded on the iPad that I just love!) but kids need to be kids and by doing that, they need to play.. with real TOYS!
A year ago I was introduced to some fun toys from Little Live Pets™, Orbeez and Beados that boost your child to get crafty and productive and also spark their love and fascination for animals.
This year, they added some new designs and characters that I absolutely just love!
Like the Mom and Baby Owl Little Live Pets.
We adore Owls in this family and even my toddler son was thrilled to play with this toy. He loved the connection between mother and baby and that they can mimick everything he says with just a press of a button!
And the newly added Butterfly and Butterfly House!
This was my daughter’s absolute favourite addition because she is a HUGE butterfly enthusiast (it’s all over her bedroom walls!) and she feels like she owns her own little butterfly complete with butterfly cage (house). It’s pretty neat that it flutters in your hands.
The only thing she wished it would do is actually fly up into the air and back to her.
More fun newbies to the artful toy line of Beados is glitter (yay for glitter!) and new cute themes.
Ava loved these but I noticed she would get a little frustrated when beads would stick and wouldn’t come out of her pod pen, even with some shaking.
It takes intricate hands and I think that’s another great thing about it.
Plus it teaches patience. Kids at this age could use a good reminder every now and then. 🙂
And if your little one loves jewelry and Princesses, they’ll be enchanted by the new Glitzi Globes™ Princess Pageant and Disney Princess Jewelry Pack!
My daughter gravitated fairly quickly to these arts & crafts toys because she loves anything DIY.
Kids feel so accomplished when they complete these and can proudly display them or share with others right after.
Ava would like to offer one of my readers a chance to win their own Beados Glitter Starter Pack (ARV $17.99) and Little Live Pets Single Butterfly(ARV $14.99) because she enjoyed them so much!
Contest open to Canadian residents. Ends May 10, 2015.
