I still remember when both my children were learning to crawl and also to walk. As a parent, you don’t usually forget these things. Especially the moment when they first start scooting away on their little tummies or that very first wobbly step.
With my son, he had an entire audience for his first steps as we were all gathered together at my parents place when he decided to show off his new-found skills.
The place was in an uproar, cheering and applauding. He loved every single second of it, giggling along the way.
In every situation, my children were encouraged to crawl and walk by an object of desire.
They saw something they wanted and knew that in order to get it, they needed to get movin’!

Little Tikes created Lil’ Ocean Explorers to help babies learn to sit, crawl, stand and walk.
They believe that little bodies were meant to sit up with pride, little arms were meant to reach new goals, little legs were meant to stand up tall and little feet were meant to chase big dreams.
The line features lovable sea creatures designed to help develop fine motor skills, coordination and confidence.

We had the chance to try out the Little Tikes Lil’ Ocean Explorers Catch Me Crabbie, which is an adorable little interactive crab toy with motion sensor that moves left to right and plays music when it detects child is near going the opposite direction while snapping its claws.
It’s adorable!
Although my son is older, he absolutely loves Crabbie and gets a kick out of it moving away from him and playing music whenever he gets too close.

I had my niece over who is just getting the hang of walking and she couldn’t get enough of Crabbie. Crabbie certainly catches the attention of little ones and the fact that it has a motion sensor, plays 6 songs and sound effects and claps its claws, is really intriguing for them.
I remember learning a while ago with my firstborn that the colour red is great for babies because babies tend to look for the longest amount of time at the colours blue, red, purple and orange.

Overall we really loved this toy and I think it’s fantastic for teaching movement & coordination and encouraging crawling in wee ones.
The Little Tikes Lil’ Ocean Explorers Catch Me Crabbie is available at Toys ‘R’ Us and Walmart and retails for $16.99.

And some amazing news for you all!

  1. What a cute toy. We had a ball that rolled away and made sounds. But when they got mobile enough they tried to pick it up and it was hard to hold and fell on their toes. This one looks like a smarter toy.

  2. This would be perfect for my little nephew; he has just started to crawl and its a little dynamo on all fours. Thanks! I will have to see if I can find it at the stores.
