Every October, L’Occitane creates a special limited edition Shea collection in honour of World Sight Day, which is on October 8th this year.

The little star of the collection is the solidarity soap which makes it so easy to give while smelling delicious!

For every soap purchased, a pair of eye glasses is financed (or the equivalent in eye care) for someone in rural Burkina Faso.
Did you know that 80% of blindness is preventable? In 2013, almost 180,000 euros was raised to support these projects in Burkina Faso.

Perhaps a great idea for the upcoming holidays? Would make a lovely stocking stuffer and knowing at the same time you’re making a difference is a big plus in my books.

This collection also brings together two of L’Occitane en Provence’s strongest commitments – support of visually impaired worldwide and the support women’s entrepreneurship in Burkina Faso. Today, L’Occitane works with 17,000 women in Burkina Faso to produce all of their Shea Butter.

They pay these women 3.5 the market price for their product and pay for 80% up front so that they are able to have income throughout the year.
They also make sure to refer to this is a partnership – they are helping these women find economic emancipation but they are also helping them to creating some of the most beautiful, natural and fair trade products in the world.
Did you know that they are also one of the first brands to put brail on their packaging?

If all that isn’t impressive, just wait till you actually smell the new Shea Honey Collection.  The Melting Honey Ultra Soft Cream and Hand Cream are essentials in my skincare.  I have the hand cream on my desk top and always apply it while working and also before bed.  The Ultra Soft Body Cream I use after each bath — it leaves my skin soft and smelling so beautiful.  The scent of shea butter with honey  that L’Occitane captured is truly lovely.  It stays on your skin for a long time and is very pleasant.

The brand new Shea Honey Collection is launching on October 6th in-stores and online.
