You know the saying: Ìt it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.  But sometimes, innovation is a good thing, and in this case, it’s a great cup of coffee convenience good.

Mornings are very hectic here with getting the kids up and ready for school, preparing breakfast, making sure the kids actually eat their breakfast and then bus drop-off.
Throw in a side of toddler tantrum’s on occasion, and it’s utter pandemonium.
But this is certainly nothing a mother can’t handle.
Correction: this is something a mother that has had her cup of morning coffee (or tea) can’t handle (and without even breaking a sweat!).
Seriously, it’s a breeze for this well-caffeinated mama.
And that’s why I say thank goodness-hallelujah for My Keurig. It’s quick and easy to have my individual cup of coffee or tea brewing while doing everything else I need to do during those bustling mornings.

I was even more happy to learn that Keurig has come out with a brand new brewing system that’s smarter, stronger and offers more coffee when you need it at once.
Bonjour Keurig 2.0.

Brew a cup and a piping hot carafe all at the touch of a button.

The K500 Series brewer (which is the one we have) features an extra-large 80 ounce water reservoir, 2.8 inch color touch display, programmable clock, an auto brew option, and a strength control setting for brewing bolder coffee.
There’s also a customizable night light in the water reservoir and it offers hot water on demand.

I love all the options you have for making your new Keurig 2.0 completely yours and especially the inclusion of a carafe. This is wonderful and extremely convenient when we have guests over and need to serve many cups of coffee. This is especially true for my family and friends of coffee-lovers!
I also like that this model offers hot water on-demand for when I have tea bags or other mixed beverages that aren’t K-Cup® or K-Carafe™.
In the older Keurig system before the latest 2.0, you had to remove the entire reservoir to add water. I like in this system, you have an easy-fill Flip-top Reservoir Lid so you can just pour water into it.  Another feature is a separate setting that allows you to brew specialty beverages such as hot cocoa, mochas and chai lattes.

You can choose from over 125 varieties of coffee, tea and specialty beverages — from 20 brands you know and love.  Check them out here.
That’s A LOT of variety and I love having a lot of variety.

Now with every good thing, there’s often some minor flaws.
I have another coffee brand that I love very much that offers single serve cups but because this system will only accept Keurig K-Cup® or K-Carafe™, I cannot use it.
Another issue I did come across with this new brewing system was that when pressing down for hot water, it would not drip up to the said 6 oz prompting me to pull up the handle and re-do it again for enough hot water. Thankfully it doesn’t do that all the time, but I’ve come across it a few times.
And one last little issue is that I find considering it offers an extra large 80 ounce water reservoir, even with a sufficient amount of water in the reservoir to brew a cup or 2-3 oz carafe, it asks me to add more water.

I am really enjoying my new Keurig® 2.0 K500 Brewing System — It has made a snug little spot on our kitchen counter-top and we couldn’t be more happy with it!
I can’t wait to try more flavours and better acquaint myself with my new #Keurig2Point0!

Christmas is just around the corner and the new Keurig™ 2.0 would make a coffee or tea lover very happy this year! Perhaps a special gift for yourself?

  1. the pods must be stronger so you can brew a thermos full unless you need to replace it once during cycle?

  2. I have an older Keurig, and I like it, but it doesn’t give hot coffee. Does the Keurig 2.0 give hot coffee? I like it nice and hot.

  3. I would love to get one of these but our current Keurig is working fine so I will have to wait! Love that it can brew the carafe!
