If you’re looking for a luxurious yet cozy place to stay just steps away from Toronto’s Entertainment District including top Toronto attractions and venues like the Air Canada Centre, C.N. Tower, Rogers Centre and Ripley’s Aquarium, Hôtel  Le Germain Maple Leaf Square is the perfect station.

Offering all the perks a boutique four-star hotel can offer with serious design flair and fantastic concierge services — I was very happy with my recent stay at Hôtel  Le Germain Maple Leaf Square.  It felt like a five-star hotel with the more humble and less pretentious vibe.

From the moment valet handled our vehicle to check-out, there was never a negative attitude or experience that left me with a bad taste in my mouth.  I find that always makes or breaks my experience at a hotel. Agreed?

Upon entering, you are instantly greeted by the hotel’s contemporary interior.
In harmony with Le Germain style, the hotel showcases natural elements such as wood and stone.  Green Apples make for fun and tasty art on the hallway walls (they are changed often – go ahead and grab one!) and water is readily available in the hallways as well.

Right across check-in on the main floor is the PLAY Lounge, which offers a sleek, cozy and intimate atmosphere perfect for conversation, offering exotic cocktails and generous wine list plus an impressive and healthy food menu.

The bison burgers with truffle fries along with their selection of sandwiches are amazing! They all come with a delicious and fresh salad and if you’ve got a sweet tooth, you will enjoy their delicious goodies!

Another great perk at the hotel? All their guests receive a yummy little welcome. Wow! And how pretty is the presentation?

The staff were extremely polite and genuinely caring and the hotel room had everything we could possibly need!

To enter the elevators up to your room and to get into your room, you just need to scan your card.  I like this for security purposes.

DSC_0354We were immediately wowed by the hotel room — it was super spacious (much needed when you are traveling with little kids that get stir crazy quite easily), very airy and relaxing and with the control of the buttons located in the middle of the beds on the console, you can control lights, room service plus room privacy. Very convenient!
The room comes with a large LCD TV with premium channels, premium bedding, free wifi, nespresso machine, minibar, large closet space for storage and we also were able to request a small fridge which is definitely a MUST when traveling with little ones.  And to our pleasant surprise (and especially the kids), angry bird pillow keepsakes!

IMG_5135DSC_0328DSC_0329IMG_5160IMG_5168The bathroom was absolutely zen-like offering a rainfall shower-head which I LOVE, a separate closed area with the toilet and full-sized, lovely-scented bath products plus designer toiletries.  An adorable addition was the child-sized (big and small kids) bath robes!  It’s the little details that are always much appreciated.

Rainfall shower after a long day. Perfection.

A deluxe continental breakfast is served in the mornings in the Relaxation Lounge on the 2nd floor.

A seriously delicious and vast selection of breakfast items — this is a pretty big deal for family travel. Free deluxe breakfast is a huge check-mark on our hotel travel list.
My kids decided to sleep in (which they usually like to do when we are staying at a hotel) so my husband was able to even bring some plates up to our room. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day after all and you will get a really satisfying fill with their continental breakfast.

On the 2nd level of the hotel is their Relaxation Lounge, which offers a large comfortable space with plush seating, free coffee, hot chocolate, or tea (they’ve got a great selection of tea!), reading material while you relax, and a computer with high-speed internet access. It’s open 24-hours so you can come and go as you please which is really nice.

And if all these fantastic amenities weren’t enough, Hôtel Le Germain is also green conscience! Preserving the environment is a significant priority for Groupe Germain. The design team of Hôtel Le Germain Maple Leaf Square took great care to incorporate eco-energetic features in an attempt to minimize the hotel’s environmental impact.

They’ve got some wonderful packages at the hotel to suit your needs/preferences starting at $295.  We love the Family Fun at the Aquarium Package which we took advantage of!  The aquarium is a must-visit when in Toronto and it’s only a short walk from the hotel.  This package starting at $404.00 includes the following for 2 adults and 2 children:

  • One night in a superior or luxury room with two double beds
  • Four tickets to Ripley’s Aquarium
  • Deluxe continental breakfast
  • Access to the Wi Fi network
  • Parking for one vehicle
  • Late check-out (2 PM)

It’s truly the perfect way to combine family fun and luxurious Le Germain style relaxation.
There are an abundance of restaurants and attractions around the hotel so you will never fall short of what to do during your stay.

Overall great customer service, spacious and clean rooms, great amenities and absolutely fantastic location.  The only con for me was that there was no swimming pool and when traveling with kids, it’s something that they look forward to.  They do, however, have a partnership with Fairmont Royal York for pool access should you be interested.
