Whether you’re busy organizing the season’s last fun hurrah with the PTA board, buying groceries, lounging at the beach or mingling at the summer’s best patio parties, I’ve taken some of the hard work of finding what the best and hottest new beauty products are out of your busy hands and put some of the best together right here just for you.

It’s not just this year, it’s every year — healthy, vibrant and glowing skin and hair is always a thing.

FOR GORGEOUS SKIN

Clarins Fix’ Makeup

$30, Hudson’s Bay or BeautyBoutique.ca

The Body Shop Drops of Light™ Pure Healthy Brightening Serum
$38, The Body Shop
Replenish moisture and illuminate skin with this lightweight, fast-absorbing serum. It glides effortlessly to deliver efficient brightening whilst leaving skin feeling supple, hydrated and healthy looking.  Clinically proven to make skin brighter, look healthier, more even toned and clarified after 4 weeks!

The Body Shop Vitamin E Aqua Boost Essence Lotion
$20, The Body Shop
This essence lotion is the perfect addition to your skin care routine – add this step in after cleansing to help boost products used right after. Lightweight, non-greasy and comfortable on the skin, this product’s gellified formula provides up to 48 hours of moisturisation, leaving skin feeling soft and smooth.

FOR HEALTHY SUN-READY HAIR

L’Occitane Aromachologie Revitalizing Fresh Shampoo
$38, L’Occitane En Provence
This daily silicone-free shampoo helps hair stay clean longer by revitalizing it for a long-lasting refreshing sensation. Its formula combines 5 essential oils (mint, thyme, grapefruit, cedar and lavender) with a purifying plant-based vinegar to free hair from everyday buildup. Its gentle foaming base is invigorating and leaves hair lightweight and full of energy.

L’Occitane Detangling Spray
$28, L’Occitane En Provence
We are obsessed with L’Occitane’s Aromachologie Revitalizing Shampoo and Detangling Spray!
Not only does it smell absolutely amazing with a truly invigorating and lovely scent that lasts forever, but it also leaves your hair shinier and more manageable. I love the detangling spray as it doesn’t weigh my hair down and it makes it much easier to brush through my wet hair and it also leaves the same refreshing scent as the shampoo. Highly recommend for every day use, especially for the summer months when hair is most likely to get oilier faster!

Nexxus Diametress Luscious Volumizing Shampoo
$13.99 Shoppers Drug Mart
If you have thinner hair (like me!), summertime heat can make hair a little more limper and lifeless. This shampoo adds lots of volume to lifeless thin hair and makes hair feel smoother too!

TIGI Bed Head Urban Antidotes Reboot Scalp Shampoo
$14.99, toniguy.com
When your scalp has had enough and needs a reboot, grab this antidote to cleanse and hydrate it. A clever potion to help scalps hold onto moisture and defend against dryness.  The plus is that it adds some nice volume to tired and thin hair too!

Philip B. Peppermint and Avocado Volumizing & Clarifying Shampoo
$32 (220ml), BeautyBoutique.ca
A generous dose of pure, crisp peppermint oil (2.3%) and 16 plant extracts create a tingly-cooling sensation, invigorating your scalp and your senses — it will feel like your very own scalp massage in the shower! A heavenly shampoo for your senses!
The rich lather clears away scalp oils and styling product residue to get your hair and scalp super-clean without stripping and it leaves your hair very shiny!

FOR FAB FACES

PUR Air Perfection CC Compact Cushion Foundation with SPF 50 (includes full-sized refill!)
$43, Ulta
CC Foundation cushion compacts are still an absolute must and favourite in your beauty bag and this particular one will forever be a favourite!
Check out my full review here.
Leaving your skin with good skin-loving nutrients, it also offers superb coverage without looking caked on.  It also comes with a full-sized refill so it’s definitely worth the splurge.  A true CAC Fave!

Clarins Bronzing and Blush Compact
$42, BeautyBoutique.ca or Hudsons Bay
Capture the perfect sun-kissed look or a sparkling tone with this make-up essential that is formulated with rich minerals and plant ingredients. Providing a matte finish, the Clarins Bronzer and Blush is great for all skin types and tackles premature ageing, reduces pollution related loss of radiance, boosts hydration, enhances skin comfort and suppleness and is dermatologically tested!
My go-to bronzer this spring/summer!

NYX Ombre Blush
$10, Shoppers Drug Mart or NYXcosmetics.ca
Give your cheeks some gorgeous colour!
Treat your cheeks to a radiant flush of multi-dimensional color, with NYX Cosmetics’ gradient Ombre Blush inspired by the ombre trend. This must-have formula features two silky colors blended into one perfectly coordinated shade combo.

Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in Pink Shimmer
$20, Hudsons Bay or Beauty Boutique.
Containing the rejuvenating essence of Shea butter, wild mango and plant perhydrosqualene to lend a lusciously soft touch and delightful aroma, this lip perfector is sure to highlight the looks of your lips with its 3D shimmer.
Pink Shimmer is my favourite and would go beautifully on every skin tone!

NYX Matte Lipstick in Shocking Pink
$10, Shoppers Drug Mart or NYXcosmetics.ca
NYX Matte Lipsticks are highly pigmented richly formulated and long-wearing. The formula glides on smoothly and stays put with a non-drying matte finish.
Shocking pink is the go-to pink for the season! Paired with long, fluttery lashes and minimal eye makeup with bronzed and pink cheeks – Gorgeous!

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner
$23, Sephora
If you love the bolder eye, look no further than a product created by the queen of cat eye, Kat Von D.
Achieve eye perfection with this high-pigment, waterproof liner that stays put all day for a fade-, melt-, crack-, and run-resistant finish. The superfine and flexible brush tip glides across the lashline for incredibly fluid application, allowing you to create a variety of looks with ease. Unlike traditional felt tip liners, this brush tip will not fray.

Benefit Roller Lash Super Curl & Lifting Mascara
$24, Ulta
And speaking of long, fluttery lashes, Benefit Cosmetics’ Roller Lash is the mascara of the year (in my humble opinion!).
It offers nice length and curl plus volume, even for those days you choose to skip using the eyelash curler! I have short, thin lashes and have probably tried every single mascara. Next to the best (more pricier) alternative that I typically do which is eyelash extensions (great for travel!), this mascara is it!

For Finishing Touches

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel System
$9.99/each, Ulta or Shoppers Drug Mart
A breakthrough in gel nail polish! Get the salon look at home with the Miracle Gel Nail Polish by Sally Hansen. The only true 2-step gel manicure with no light needed. Shades that wow! Leading the revolution in gel technology.
The Top Coat alone is the BEST (I even use it on top of other polishes and it leaves them shiny and longer-lasting).

CLEAN Reserve in Amber Saffron
$125, Sephora
You know when you pass someone on the streets and catch a whiff of their perfume having to either stop them to get the scent they’re wearing (if you’re brave and smart enough) or obsessing over it afterwards attempting to find it at your local perfume counter, well, this is the perfume.
If you’re more sensitive to strong scent, however love a good quality perfume, the CLEAN reserve line is perfect for you. The CLEAN Reserve collection offers high quality scents with pure ingredients.
Amber Saffron is the sexiest and most delicious fragrance of the collection — an irresistibly fresh blend of red fruits, delicate florals, soothing musks, warm amber and exquisite saffron, it is sure to leave a lasting impression.

Have a beautiful summer!

  1. There are some wonderful suggestions here! I think I need to take a closer look at ‘L’Occitane Detangling Spray,’ though. My hair is quite fine so it tangles quite easily but most conditioners tend to weigh it down.

  2. I would really love to try the L’Occitane En Provence for sun ready hair. I live at the beach in the summer. I need this.

  3. So many awesome summer beauty product suggestions! I would love to try The Body Shop Drops of Light Pure Healthy Brightening Serum. My skin is so dry after the long winter months that it needs a summer refresh and boost! I’m a huge lover of their body butter and will keep this in mind on my next shopping trip 🙂 Great post! Thanks for sharing.

  4. Thanks for all the recommendations! I would love to try the L’Occitane Aromachologie Revitalizing Fresh Shampoo and The Body Shop Drops of Light Pure Healthy Brightening Serum.

  5. I would love to try any of the products on your list. I could definitely use a refresh for summer after a long, dulling winter and spring.

  6. Haven’t tried any of the products on this list but some of them do sound worth trying! Thanks for the list!

  7. I’d love to try the L’occitane Shampoo sometime. They don’t sell it in my town. The next time I’m in a city though.

  8. So many fab products on the list! I bought the NYX Matte Lipstick and it’s great! I love that my lips don’t feel super dry as they do with most other matte lipsticks.

My other favourite product on your list is the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel System. I bought this last year & couldn’t believe how long it lasted on my toes! I think I finally took it off after about a month because it was growing out – not a single chip!

  9. This is a great collection, some pretty amazing products here!! I would love to try all the face products, they sound great!!
