With the change of season, Fall brings with it plenty of new beginnings.
Nature looks to Fall as it’s season of transition and rest before it embarks on a new re-birth. Kids are excitedly anticipating returning back to school for a new year, new teachers, new friends and many new things to learn.
Fall also symbolizes the dawn of another new season and the changeover to Winter, another favourite season for many, especially children!
My daughter absolutely adores the Fall season because of all the exhilarating transformations.
We were so thrilled to learn that Kombi, a Canadian family-owned and leading international sports accessories brand catering to outdoor winter enthusiasts of all kinds, wanted to send some of their beautiful pieces to Ava to try for herself.
I wanted to really understand why the “New New Year” was so auspicious and loved so who better to ask than my daughter? It’s always better to see the world from the eyes and heart of a child, isn’t it?

Fall is such a beautiful time of year, the foliage being the perfect backdrop for just about everything. Nature truly knows how to make a ravishing spectacle of itself.
With the little nip in the air, layering your clothing is important, especially as the Winter face emerges over the weeks.
As a mother, dressing my children for these seasons means superior quality and secure warmth.
We love the Body 2 Merino Wool Jr. Top and Bottom for the perfect, versatile mid-weight base layers for underneath their outfits for those really chilly days and frolicking in the snow.
These base layers come in a few different colours for your picking and choosing.
The Body 2 Merino Wool Bottoms offer Plush waistband, Ankle length, and Flatlock stitching (Ava had the WinterBerry colour on in the video).
The Body 2 Merino Wool Jr. Top has a Crew neck, Raglan sleeves, Flat lock stitching and Poly/Spandex collar. I found it fits true-to-size, so if you want to wear again for next year, I recommend you get one size larger. Ava is typically a small-medium (6x) and that’s what I got, but if I wanted something a little more spacious, I would have gotten the M (7-8).
Kombi’s classic 2-layer merino wool blend is breathable, insulated, and with odour-control and quick-dry. And is used for most of their pieces.
The adorable socks are truly one of the “stars” of the show.
The Star Jr provides all-over extra-cushion and will keep your kids feet nice and cozy, comfortable and dry in very cold temperatures. More amazing features in The Star Jr socks is the Arch and ankle support, Side mesh, Flat toe seam and Nylon heel blend heel and toe reinforcement.

With the colder weather, heat escapes so much more quickly from your feet, hands, and head.
Keeping Ava’s head warm, is one of our absolutely favourite pieces from Kombi, The Cloudy, in frostbite.
A one size fits all Peruvian hat with pom-pom and tassels made of 100% Icelandic yarn acrylic knit featuring 4-way stretch lining and Extra thick yarn.
It’s not only super warm, it’s super stylish too!
Speaking of stylish, I’m loving Le Bandeau, a 100% Acrylic cable knit headband with no fleece lining, to keep your ears warm with beauty and style!
They come in a few colours and the one I have is in Frostbite.
I wear it often but I share with Ava (as seen in the first part of the video) as it’s a one size fits all.
We are just so impressed with the effortless artistry and charm in Kombi’s pieces and because this is a Canadian brand (Montreal-based), it’s evident that they understand our Winter’s and what we’re looking for in Fall/Winter fashion accessories.
