Frigid temps ain’t got nothing on your beauty game when you’re well equipped with some of the best beauty products.
Here are some of the winter beauty essentials that you need to have in your maquillage armory this season.

Nuxe Rêve de Miel® Lip balm, $17, Available at Hudson’s Bay or Murale *A CAC Fave!*

Nourishes and repairs dry and cracked lips.
Suitable for delicate, dry or cracked lips and all the family, including children from 36 months.

Features and Benefits:
• A truly delicious combination of Honey and Grapefruit
• No artificial fragrance
• Preservative-free

This is the only lip balm I now use. I apply liberally before bed and wake up with perfectly moisturized lips that last for the whole day! For extra love, I apply a bit under my lipstick.

Speaking of lipstick, RED LIPS will and always will be a beauty favourite. This is especially true as we enter 2016 this Winter.

M.A.C. Lipstick in Ruby Woo, $17,
A classic and beautiful red and amazing, long-lasting staying power!

Clarins Joli Rouge in Cherry Red, $27, (available at Hudson’s Bay)

Annabelle Twistups Retractable Lipstick Crayon in Monroe, $9.95, Available at Murale/Shoppers Drug Mart

L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream 150ml, $32, *A CAC Fave*

Enriched with 20% Shea Butter, this hand cream penetrates quickly to protect, nourish and moisturize* your hands. Rapidly absorbed with no oily traces, this hand cream doesn’t need to be reapplied even after frequent hand washing. The minimal scent makes it suitable for men and women. Invites even the most hard-working hands to a fresh beginning!

Banish the powdered blushes and swap with a pretty cream blush to give your cheeks a beautiful, dewy glow.  I always say that cheeks should be accentuated as part of your makeup routine.  A nice pink cream blush is always gorgeous on every skin tone, and for every season!

Burberry Fresh Glow Blush in Pink Peony, $43, Hudson’s Bay

fc3e9dd3f1c8b4fbcacbc15efabcde38d01c9ba8Discover a flush of effortless, sheer dewy colour for cheeks.
Glide the luminous stick over apples of the cheeks for a wash of delicate, transparent colour in a choice of three complexion-enhancing shades.
The texture is effortlessly blendable, with a sheer ‘colour-pop’ blush effect. The mistake-proof, water-based formula delivers an instantly cool sensation upon contact with the skin.

– Unique cooling effect on skin
– Natural-looking, glowing result
– Transparent colour

This isn’t as rich in pigment but it offers a really natural and lovely blush to your cheeks. Plus the cooling effect is a plus! Great thing about this cream blush is that it truly enhances your natural complexion unlike any other blush I’ve ever tried.

Marcelle Cream Blush in Pink Mademoiselle, $15.95, Available at Shoppers Drug Mart
A creamy formula that beautifully blends for a flawless application. The richly pigmented shades provide a veil of colour for a healthy glow.
I really love the high pigment in this cream blush; just a little goes a long way!

Quo by Orly Color Amp'd

Quo by Orly Color Amp’d Flexible Color, $10.99, Exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart

I can honestly tell you that this new line from Quo by ORLY has won me over.
The fact that it wears like a gel but removes like a polish with flexible colour which offers smudge-proof and scratch-proof technology is fantastic. And it actually does what it says!
It lasts a long time (mine lasted up to an entire week before it started showing wear) and the colours are pretty too.
Endless Summers (Coral Crème), Red Carpet Flash (Red Glitter), Infamous (Red Brown Crème), SpeakEasy (Light Tan Crème) and Boulevard (Light pink Shimmer) are my favourite shades for this Winter.

What’s makeup really going to do if your skin isn’t well moisturized?  Winter brings on dry skin  and having the proper moisturizer does wonders for your face, with our without makeup!

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Deep Moisture Balm, $27.50,

Clarins HydraQuench Normal to Dry Cream, $50, (available at Hudson’s Bay)

  1. One thing I could never wear was red lipstick. Just could never find the right shade??! I do love those fat blushes!! Great for travel. 🙂

  2. I love the red lipsticks – I don’t know if I could rock it though….I’ve bought a red MAC lipstick, but never got the courage to actually wear it! But every time I see a picture of someone wearing it, I’m crazy jealous lol…and it makes me want to just do it! Maybe one day…

  3. wow so many great products. would love to give the L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream a try! the only thing missing is a foot cream of some sort! my get really dry in the winter
